Roses and Delicate Stamping

I was inspired by roses, so I painted some on my nails. I went for a delicate and not too crowded design. Here's what I did:

I really like how this turned out.
Excuse the weird shaped nails, I have a few patched breaks.

Here's a close up of the pattern I stamped using MoYou London Fairytale Collection Plate 3.

Medieval Dragons

Last week I decided to use one of my favourite polishes - A-England Dragon. It's awesome. So what would go better than dragons? Nothing. So that's what I did.

Messy Mansion plate MM05 was perfect for this :D

Colours Used:
Green - A-England: Dragon
Silver - A-England: Excalibur Renaissance
Black - Black Stamping Polish from Born Pretty Store

Orange with Blue Flowers and Blue and Green Stamping

The last two weeks I was studying like mad for my exams, so these were the two easy designs that I did because there was no way I was missing out on painting my nails :D

This is a gradient with flowers. I rushed a little because I had so much studying to do, but here it is. It is way more orange than how I wanted it, but it grew on me haha :)

Colours Used:
Dark Orange - Revlon: Alluring Amber
Light Orange - Zoya: Cole

Dark Blue - China Glaze: First Mate
Light Blue - OPI: No Room For The Blues

Dark Green - China Glaze: Starboard
Light Green - China Glaze: Gaga for Green

This one was inspired by a girl I follow on Instagram and YouTube (@opalliegh18). She does a lot of cool stamping and inspired me to use more than one colour at once. I tried it and I like it :)
I used MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 7 for this.

Catch Up

So I have been pretty swamped with uni work that I haven't uploaded pictures of my nails for about 5 weeks. So here they are :)

I got some new stamping plates from MoYou London and there is a design on one of them that looks just like a necklace I have.

I used MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 5. I added some rhinestones to my ring finger and thumb and just silver dots on the rest.

Colours Used:
Black - A-England: Bridal Veil
Gold - Essie: Good as Gold
Silver - Rimmel London: Her Majesty

This one reminds me of gothic wallpaper or something. I used another new MoYou London stamping plate. The stamping plate was the Fashionista Collection Plate 7.

I bought a macro lens for my phone so I could take close ups, so this is just a test photo. It gets really close but I think it's too macro... But look at that holo :D

Colours Used:
Black - A-England: Camelot
Silver Holo - Color Club: Harp On It

This one is quite spring feeling. A soft purple gradient, delicate gold glitter and daisies. I quite like it.

Here is another macro shot that is too macro. But look at those gold flecks :D So pretty.

Colours Used:
Darkest Purple - China Glaze: Spontaneous
Light Purple - Essie: Lilacism
White - China Glaze: White On White
Yellow - China Glaze: Lemon Fizz
Green - China Glaze: Gaga for Green
Gold Glitter - A-England: And the Moonbeams

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I like the colours together, but I feel like it's a bit messy. I tried the waterless marble technique for this.

Colours Used:
Blue - OPI: Swimsuit...Nailed It!
Purple - China Glaze: Let's Groove
Gold - Orly: Luxe

These are just some peacock feather nails that I did. I kind of like them, but I rushed them a bit. And maybe too much gold...

Colours Used:
Base - OPI: Thanks a Windmillion
Greens - China Glaze: Gaga for Green and Sinful Colors: San Francisco
Blues - OPI: No Room for the Blues and China Glaze: Blue Iguana
Gold - Essie: Good as Gold

Half Moon

This is the last Moonbeam Lacquer that I have (so far). It's called Moon Dust and it's sooo pretty!

This glitter is moon themed as well, but I didn't want it to be too similar to my other moon I did for Lunar Ritual. So I did a bit of a half moon and a star. And lots of glitter :D

For the moon, I just painted a white half circle and sponged on some black, grey and some more white until I was happy with it.

Colours Used:
Black - A-England: Camelot
White - China Glaze: White on White
Grey - Sinful Colors: Cool Grey
Glitter - Moonbeam Lacquer: Moon Dust

In the Garden...

I'm a bit late posting these photos, but they continue on from the last two posts and there is one more to come after this one :)

This next one is called Garden Nymph. I decided on a Spring theme

I did a light, Spring gradient/ombre and topped it with the beautiful glitter that is Garden Nymph :D

I stamped some grass and flowers on just my thumb and ring finger because I wanted the glitter to be the main focus. I used MoYou London Mother Nature Collection Plate 1.

I just love this glitter!

Colours Used:
Purple - Essie: Lilacism
Green - China Glaze: Gaga for Green
Green for Stamping - Mundo de Unas: Military Green Special Stamping Polish
Glitter - Moonbeam Lacquer: Garden Nymph

A Full Moon Means...... GLITTER!!

If you haven't already seen my last post, you can go read that so that this one makes sense :)

This is the second nail art design I did using my new Moonbeam Lacquers.

Jumping straight into it. This one is called Lunar Ritual.

Obviously, I had to do some kind of moon to match the name Lunar Ritual, so I did a full moon :)

These two pictures are of the same colour, just in different lighting, but I think it looks cool over both colour variations :)

Again, I wanted it to be all about the glitter with just a small nail art. So...

I did the full moon. I really like it. I even dabbed some of the glitter around to represent stars.

Here's another bottleshot because I just can't get enough of them :D

Colours Used:
Blue base - China Glaze: First Mate
Glitter - Moonbeam Lacquer: Lunar Ritual
White - China Glaze: White on White
Light Blue - China Glaze: Electric Beat
Grey - Sinful Colors: Cool Grey

Return of the Mushrooms.

Three weeks ago, I received a very special package.

My package contained the four Moonbeam Lacquers I bought.
I found them on Instagram by indie polish maker, Katie.

So I bought four to start with and I love them. I'm using one each week to create a nail art inspired by the name of the polishes.

First up was Fairy Ring. And what is more appropriate for a fairy ring than mushrooms? I have done mushroom nails before and I loved them, so this is a perfect time to do them again.

Since I wanted to showcase the glitter polish, I didn't want to over crowd it with nail art. I just did some mushrooms in the grass on my ring finger as the accent and on the thumb as well.

I stamped this cute fairy on top of the mushroom I painted using MoYou London Fairytale Collection Plate 1. I just love how it turned out.

I also fell in love with these bottles and the magical touches of the crystal and label, so I had to include a bottleshot.

Just another random picture :D

I went a bit crazy on Instagram (@magicalpolish) with these photos. I took multiple photos of each, with a video of how the glittering contents sparkled in the sun, so if you want to see that, you can check that out ;)

Also, when I have finished using all four of these beauties, I'm going to do a whole post dedicated to them :D

Colours Used:
Base - A-England: Fonteyn
Glitter - Moonbeam Lacquer: Fairy Ring
Greens - China Glaze: Gaga for Green and Starboard

Striping Tape...

I was a bit short of time and I didn't know what to do. So I used so striping tape because I don't use it very much. I saw a picture on pintrest, which I used the pattern from to create this. I couldn't find who originally made it though.

So it's nothing exciting really. I think my favourite part of it is the base colour, which doesn't show well anyway :( It's actually a dark purple, plum kind of colour.

Colours Used:
Base - A-England: Sleeping Palace
Silver - Rimmel London: Her Majesty

One Stroke Flowers Take 2!

So... I attempted to do one stroke flowers again. My first attempt was kind of a fail, but I love these! They're like 100 times better than my last ones, but I still have a lot of practicing to do :)

Ahhh! Look at that green! It's my favourite everrrrr!

I love every bit of this. The rhinestone is so pretty :) But that green. Gosh.

The green even matches my ring <3

Green - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Emerald City (over black)
Black - OPI: Black Onyx
White and Purple Acrylic Paint

Pretty Rhinestones.... :D

Another gradient :)
I used teals and mints for this one, with some subtle gold stamping.
But I reeeeally love the rhinestones :D

It's so pretty! It's like a rainbow, flashing mostly greens and pinks. But look at it!
I got them from the Born Pretty Store website (www.bornprettystore.com) a while ago but hadn't used them.
I surrounded them with gold micro beads.

Colours Used:
Mints (darkest to lightest) - Covergirl: Mint Mojito, Sinful Colors: Be Happy and Sea Siren: Motion of the Ocean.
Teal - Sinful Colors: Gorgeous
Gold - OPI: Glitzerland

Plain...

Lat week, I was a bit short for time and a bit uninspired. I've been meaning to use this colour for a while. I put it on and then I didn't want to cover it with anything. So I did something simple by just sticking a little embellishment on it.

They're quite pretty and intricate. I got them from the Born Pretty Store website (www.bornprettystore.com). They're little metal cut outs and there's other shapes too.
I like how they look, but they're kind of a pain to put on. Being made of thin metal I thought I would be able to easily bend them to fit my nail shape. Not so easy :/ But I got them on there in the end.

This colour is so pretty, it doesn't show up properly :(
I really wanted to wear it, so I did and I think the gold things go well with the colour.

Colours Used:
A-England: Briarwood

I can't tell you how much I love these...

Now for the designs that I LOVE!

The first one is inspired by the Snowdrop flowers. I love these little flowers, they're so cute! I don't have Snowdrops where I live :( I just think they're so magical and they always make me think of fairies :D

So here's what I did:

I painted little tiny Snowdrops. They're not that detailed, but you can tell they're supposed to be Snowdrops. And look at that base colour! Look at it! OMG, could I have picked a better colour to go with Snowdrops? I think not! It's called Dancing with Nureyev by A-England.

Here's my thumb, you can see the Snowdrops a little better in this picture. I do think I should have made the stems a little thinner though... But look at that colour! I just can't get over it haha :D

Colours Used:
Blue - A-England: Dancing with Nureyev
Greens - China Glaze: Gaga for Green and Starboard
White - China Glaze: White on White

This next one sort of came out of no where.

I knew that I wanted to do a gradient of some kind and to use some new rhinestones that I got. So I played around a bit and this is what happened. I did a gradient of medium purple, light purple and light blue. I have trouble with gradients because I never know what colours to put together, but this just worked.

Then I stamped with MoYou London Mother Nature Collection Plate 1, which is the swirly tree pattern. I used A-England's original Excalibur to stamp with, which works great, but it made me sad to see how much got wasted of my precious A-England haha.
Then I stuck some rhinestones randomly in the middles of some of the swirls. These rhinestones are not specifically for nails, I just found them in the craft section of a cheap shop.

I love this one so much, so whimsical....

Colours Used:
Medium Purple - China Glaze: Spontaneous
Light Purple - Essie: Lilacism
Light Blue - Essie: Borrowed and Blue
Silver - A-England: Excalibur (Original)

Meh...

I've finally got around to putting my photos on my computer to upload. So I have 4 designs that I haven't uploaded yet. In this post, I will show the 2 that I like least and he next one will be of the ones that I love.

This is the first one:

I had it set in my head that I wanted to use A-England's Dorian Grey. Along with feeling a little uninspired, I also didn't want to cover up the colour. So I did a simple Waterfall design.
There's a bit of tip wear because I almost didn't take photos. But it's a week's worth of tip wear! I did my nails on Sunday night and took it off on Friday night. Way to go A-England! You can see my thumb nail is worse than the rest, but that's pretty damn good wear time even after work.

Colours Used:
Gunmetal - A-England: Dorian Grey

Blue - OPI: Swimsuit Nailed it!
Silver - Orly: Dazzle

This next one didn't turn out as awesome as I thought it would. If you've seen any of the Picture Polish Special Edition polishes that look like galaxies, you'll know they look amazing over black. So what I attempted was to watermarble with one of them and a clear polish onto a black base.

You can see the shift in colour at different angles here in full sunlight with a nice background of the cement outside my work. The watermarbling worked well, but I think the problem was that with watermarbling, you can't do 2 coats of the colour, so the colour wasn't as amazing as it could have been with 2 coats.

Colours Used:
Black - A-England: Camelot
Shifty - Picture Polish: Illusionist
Clear - Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Top Coat (because I'm trying to use it all up)

Happy Fairy Day!

Today (June 24th) is Fairy Day. I was invited by a page I like on Facebook to the event. So I thought I would paint my nails especially for the occasion. I absolutely love how this turned out :D

I didn't want to do something quite so obvious as fairies and also, I did fairies last week. So I thought what's something iconic and associated with faires? Red mushrooms with white spots! (Fly Agaric, Amanita muscaria to be exact haha).

I love love love these! I don't think I could be happier with them. Maybe they could do with a little more glitter though ;)

Colours Used:
Green base - OPI: Thanks A Windmillion (Love that name).
Greens for grass - China Glaze: Gaga for Green and Starboard
Reds - Sally Hansen: Right Said Red, Orly: Ruby and China Glaze: Ruby Pumps
Beige - OPI: Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?
Brown - OPI: Woodenshoe Like To Know (Love this name too).
White - China Glaze: White On White

Autumn Fairies

It's not Autumn anymore in Australia, but it sure doesn't feel like Winter. So I did a bit of an Autumn design.

I wanted to use the leaves from my MoYou London Fairytale image plate 9. I was kind of inspired by a scene from Thumbelina, the Golding of the Leaves scene. It didn't really turn out that well, but it was still, uhh, interesting.

I used the leaves as the top near my cuticles and had a trail of gold glitter/fairy dust underneath. You can't really see the glitter in the photos, which sucks, but it is there.

Then on my thumb, I put a fairy from my MoYou London image plate 1. The trail of glitter/fairy dust is trailing behind her on to the other nails.

I liked the concept of what I was trying to do more than how it turned out.

Colours Used:
Gold - Kleancolor: Americana
Black - Black stamping polish from Born Pretty Store in a teeny weeny sample size :)
