Purple and Silver...

This week, I started with the idea of doing some kind of fancy-ish half moon design. I tried some things on a practice wheel and nothing really made me go "wow, this is the one I'm gonna do!"
Until I got this:

It didn't turn out to be a half moon design at all! But I really like it.

I don't even know what to call it. It's kinda like petals...but kinda not. Any ideas?
I don't really know what else to say other than I looooveee this purple!!!

Just look at that purple!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

So it's Saint Patrick's Day, and what better to have on my nails than green, gold, four leaf clovers/shamrocks and leprechauns? And that's exactly what I've done this week.

I have got green and white plaid on three fingers, which from a distance kinda looks like square flowers...
On my ring finger, I have gold glitter with two four leaf clovers/shamrocks.

Now for my favourite part... The Leprechaun.

I found this little fellow on Google Images while searching for leprechauns. I saw most of them were sneaky looking, but this one is just adorable.

This time, my DIY stickers turned out much better than they did for my The One Ring Nails :D
I used top coat on a sandwich bag and painted my leprechaun on top. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube, that's where I learnt :)

Then beside my little leprechaun, I did a little pot of gold with a rainbow, because why not?
Here's a better picture of the pot of gold and rainbow.

The base for this is an ombre of dark green, light green and white. I left out the green stripe because I thought it might have blended into the background too much and I wouldn't have roon for that littler slither of purple :)

Dark Swirly Nails.

I haven't done anything too fancy this week. Just some simple stamping. The reason for this is I didn't want to cover up too much of my base colour, which is gorgeous!!

The base colour I used is one of my latest additions and my very first Picture Polish. It's called Solar Flare, I love it! Without going into too much detail, it's a orangey, browny, purpley, redish colour that shifts between these colours in different lights and at different angles. It also has some fine glitter in it. I'm pretty sure Solar Flare and the others in the limited addition collection are designed to be layered over black because they are kind of sheer on their own.

Anyway, I really love this colour, I almost just left it the way it was with no stamping. After saying how amazing it is, unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the colour in all it's glory :( There wasn't enough sun and I'm not sure my camera could pick it up anyway :(

Here's what I did:

I painted all of my nails black as the base for Solar Flare, but left my ring finger black. Then I stamped all of the nails that had Solar Flare on them with black using the swirly pattern from my MoYou London Fairytale Plate 2. Then for my ring finger, I stamped with Solar Flare using the same design. I kind of wish I had done it the same as the others. I don't know what's going on with my pinky, it just seems to point that way...weird :)

Since I couldn't capture it properly, I tried to get it at different angles to show the different colours.

This picture shows the more purpley side.

This one shows the orangey brown side.

I really wanted to be able to show you how beautiful this colour really is, but since I can't, other people have done a better job at taking pictures of this colour, so just Google it :)

Elven Crown Nails.

This week, I was in a rather sparkly, magical mood and I have been browsing the internet and places like Etsy for fairy crowns or headpieces. They were all beautiful, but I was particularly inspired by one on Etsy by Freckles Fairy Chest.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to use her picture so I'll just link the crown on Etsy for now.

I spread the front of the crown across three fingers. As you can see, it's not exactly the same as the actual piece, but it does have the main features. I had to use this hand position, otherwise the crown wouldn't match up.

For my pinky and thumb, I sponged on some fine gold glitter in spots and added some little twinkles in gold. I really like how they turned out, so I might do them as a separate manicure all together.
