Not Your Average Easter Design.

Leading up to Easter, nail art YouTubers, Bloggers and Instagramers etc were coming out with lots of different nail art designs for Easter. They were all so beautiful and I really liked them. So I decided to do my own take on them. When I was practicing on my nail wheels, trying to come up with something similar and just as pretty, I just wasn't feeling it. It isn't spring here in Australia, so I think it was because that's not what Easter is to me. I was quite stuck for ideas. T

Then it hit me...

I would do something that signified Easter to me, something from my childhood...

A nail design inspired by my favourite Easter book. It's still my favourite, even at age 20. The book I'm talking about it The Tale of the Great Bunny. I'm pretty sure it's from Cadbury.

This book holds such good memories, that it's in a scrapbook.
I will always remember reading it every year before Easter Sunday. When we finished I always had to count the gold eggs, the purple eggs and the Cadbury swirls. It never got old, even though I knew how many there were because I had read it the year before and the year before that and the year before that.... If I got it out of the scrapbook now, I would probably count them again, just to be sure ;)

Anyway, on to what I did.
I took the main elements from the above picture.

Like his face,

His waist coat,

the chocolate brown and of course the gold and purple eggs.

My ring finger represents his waist coat and buttons. I attempted to put the little Cadbury swirls on the buttons, but my brush isn't tiny enough, so they're not really swirls...
On the other nails are little plain gold and purple eggs with a chocolate brown and glittery background. I even took photos with some eggs that are similar to the ones in the picture. How many can you count? ;)

Now for my favourite part...

The Great Bunny himself!

I am very happy with him. I painted him using the sandwich bag sticker method. The only thing that I wish I fixed before I put him on my nail is his eyes. Other than that, I am very pleased.

This post is a little late, but I hope you had an awesome Easter :D
